Summary
MTI’s new Freedom ONE secure merchandising solution lets consumer electronics retailers put live devices in the hands of shoppers - without fear of theft - using a sleek, flexible, all-in-one unit that minimizes installation requirements and cuts costs. The new unit will be shown at next week's National Retail Federation trade show in New York.

The stand-alone Freedom ONE - the latest in a long line of reliable, secure interactive merchandising solutions developed by MTI – is easily and quickly installed on any level retail countertop or endcap. The advanced wireless design combines device charging with an alarmed mechanical CarbonTether™, dramatically reducing both false alarms and product theft.

“Experience in the field steadily shows sales go up on devices like mobile phones, digital cameras and MP3 players when shoppers can touch and try them out. Freedom ONE lets retailers get these products out of locked cabinets and into people’s hands without worrying about theft, and without a lot of renovation time and cost to put a secure merchandising system in place,” says Thaine Allison, MTI’s VP of Products and Systems. “Freedom One comes out of the box ready to go, with a simplified, variable mounting system that removes any need for drilling or wiring.”

Built-in sensors deter theft

Sensors built-in to the Freedom One automatically monitor the presence of mounted merchandise, and trigger the alarm if someone attempts to remove a product, cut the tether or tries to remove the Freedom ONE unit. An integrated light ring in the base elegantly provides store staff with visual cues on the state of the security and alarm system.

The Freedom ONE system also gives retailers options on the CarbonTether™ – from a .09” standard to an anti-theft focused .13” heavy cable.

The Freedom ONE is the latest in a line of sophisticated secure MTI merchandising solutions that get products out of the display case “jail” and into the hands of shoppers. Freedom™ LP3 was the first product in the market to provide enhanced mechanical security with electronic alarming.  Freedom Universal 2.0 provides variable power for camcorders, cameras and GPS with a SmartTether™ that never kinks or degrades despite heavy use. Freedom Core offers a wide selection of compact, discreet sensors for securing other, larger devices such as power tools.

Based in Portland, Oregon, MTI is an acknowledged leader in the development and delivery of interactive merchandising solutions for retailers in North America and globally. Hundreds of thousands of MTI units, particularly in the consumer electronics sector, keep demonstration products secured and powered – converting the shopping experience from trying items to buying them.

MTI is located at booth 2671 at the 100th Annual NRF Big Show, Jan. 10-11 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York.
